Craving for Japanese Buffet

Me and my 雕兄 are really a big fans of Japanese food. We came across this Japanese restaurant at Bandar Puteri earlier, and was so eager to try it out. But its always full house especially on the weekend. We've been trying and trying to make reservation but end up disappointment and finally today we able to book it. So Let's go!

Kikyo Japanese Buffet Restaurant

The restaurant is not empty as seen in the picture..this pic was took at 10pm when we are about to leave the restaurant.

Our favourite - Salmon Sashimi

Onion Fried Rice
Not as good as Munakata

Potato Salad

Fried Ebi

Tako-Yaki with 5 different stuffing

Tofu Steak

Yaki Niku @ Teppanyaki Beef

Gyoza @ 锅贴

All time favourite - Unagi

Rated 5 *****
Ichiban!!

Beef Teppanyaki with the Onion Fried Rice is the perfect match!!

Kikyo are serving a la carte buffet where you may order unlimited quantities of the food from the menu. Generally the environment is ok-ok....just a little bit too noisy especially when its crowded. But looking at the price of the buffet you will ignore it immediately without any doubts..... Just Rm29.90++ per person and you will have 60 varieties of selection from the appetizer to dessert. Wat's more to expect...rite?

Talking about the taste its always like "1 cent money equals to 1 cent worth of goods" (一分钱一分货). Definitely it cannot be compare to Munakata, but its always a great choice when you have limited budget but wanted sashimi and unagi so badly like i did!

The restaurant is quite pack with limited no of tables, so its always better to call and make reservations if you really plan to visit them.

My 5S trip to Bintulu

Been extremely busy since june till now....no time to rest..no time for anything that i wish to accomplish....its was all because of the projects im handling now....

Always heard ppl said they got 5 months bonus in the year....but my boss gave me nothing except the 5SSSSS-----Stress, Suffer, Sleepless, Smelly and Scary...

My business trip to bintulu really SUFFER me alot...after been working non-stop almost 24 hours on last 2 weeks, on the day of departure i gotta wake up at 7am lagi and reach airport to catch 9.30am flight. And just when i touch the ground of bintulu airport i've been transfer to the office - Bintulu Port and my SLEEPLESS night began......

my fatty boss carry 1 notebook and 1 desktop
me neither easy ...i carry 2 notebook in my backpack
with trolley...hehe

coastal road along the way to the office

Nice looking abandon office

my working place in Bintulu
We start working just when we arrived at around 12.30pm.

At 5pm everybody starts going home to buka puasa, since we only had our brunch on the flight, we tot we can get some dinner from the cafeteria. Oh gosh...dun think about food, we dun even get a cup of coffee...the cafeteria was shut down due to hygiene issues. well...no choice than diet plan to take place.

We continue working and hopefully can finish it fast fast then go for dinner. But no matter how and wat we did....the data is still not tally arghhhhh....we have no idea of wat went wrong as there is no error log or errorprompt....then just trial and error keep on debug and debug and re-check and re-check and re-run and re-run to get it right....I was so STRESS tat time and almost got crazy...

Guess its my brain got stuck for no "food input" after long hours, better go toilet and wash my face and hope i'll get refresh abit....uhh walking out of the office ....the surrounding was so dark ....so quiet....no lights (jimat electricity) ....nobody....no security....and the toilet was at second floor only....there were echo of my footstep while walking to the toilet...errr so scary..the whole building left only me and boss ....dare not to waste a single second...i run to the toilet and run back to the office...reli scary oh ...

Continue Work ...work...work...and work....finally all the data is tally...hooray!!! And that night we work in the server room until 1am.... and there goes my night without the support of my favourite -- Kopi O.......zzzZZZZZzzzzzzz.....

After had KFC for me dinner/supper and a quick shower...finally i can sleep. It was abt 2++am d. On next day morning 8am since we know that we cant get any food nor drink within our working place, we shall had our breakfast, lunch and tea in one shot. 2 person 4 dish with my favourite Kopi O to boost the day....good enough!

Seaview Restaurant
Notice the banner we dun used to see it in Peninsular

if not mistaken..this bowl of soup got at least 2 prawns and it was only selling at RM13 per bowl...worth it!
大头虾米粉汤

On the second day everything was so smooth...the clients are happy with our work and we too happily tot we will be able to catch the flight back to kl at 4.30pm...so eagerly to go back but then suddenly our main contractor told us our flight had changed to 2.30pm the next day....oh my oh my....no choice we just have to stay another day here.

Reaching hotel at 6++, its time for dinner. But ops...almost all the shop beside our hotel is closed, the town is so quiet at just about 7pm. Have to walk quite a distance only found there are few chinese restaurant is still on.

Looks too normal?? But inside got sea cucumber oh..i dun think we can get it in KL as per the price at Bintulu..anyway its NICE!

After dinner we went back to hotel and finally i can have a good rest. And here comes the smelly stories....the toilet is basically clean and looks new..but there got no shampoo, no conditioner, no showel gel instead only 2 small piece of May soap. OMG...enough to wash my hair...not enough to wash my body ... and then there got no toothpaste....i din bring my toothpaste instead only toothbrush....at the end for the 2 days i brush my teeth with water only....besides these...i dun have any extra clothes to change as i was expected to spend only 2 days 1 night here ...wat to do then just after mandi have to pakai the same clothes again haha...see...SMELLY or not? hehe

The next day morning....took a few pic of the streets from the hotel window.

The restaurant where we had our breakfast..just beside our hotel building

Jetty & Ferry
transport ppl across the river from opposite bank

Strong along the river in front of our hotel while waiting for Ramzi. (Our colleague @ Bintulu Port). We are going to visit the market place (tamu) before departure.

While finding parking to the market we saw these funny scene.....

if you were headache with your old car...just leave it here...somebody will help to take care of it

Recycle Car

I found that the market place here @ Bintulu are so much different from what we can get in KL. There is a lot of unusual things that really thrill me and I was really grateful and thank him so much for this itinerary.

Tongkat Ali @ RM30 Per Stick

Special "mango" smells so strong of mango but its not a mango
very heavy and "hard" ...with the thick thick skin like the coconut
Buah MBang 1 longgok @ RM5

i was thinking to bring this back..but Ramzi advise me better dun do so. He had tried a few times thinking to bring this fruit to his friends at Peninsular too. But it was rejected to be hand carry and even check-in cargo. i think its becoz of the strong smells like the durian did.

my room

About this trip at summary, it was never an easy one. Anyhow its a new experience although its not my first time to visit east malaysia. Its nice and interesting either at Bintulu the place, the market or the "haunted" hotel. I just felt a little bit disappointed in this trip where i was working at one of the Malaysia most leading port i dun even have the chance to walk out from the office and enjoy the magnificent sight. Hope there will be another chance to do so but not the tough job there again.
