My Honeymoon Diary : The Musikverein

Guess what is this building????

Part of Vienna's cityscape ~ The Spittelau Incinerator

Its one of three thermal waste treatment plants in Vienna, artistically designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser has now became a tourist attraction. The unique and spectacular artwork represents a successful example of a harmonious symbiosis between technology, ecology and art.

we travel along the Danube river....from Budapest and now it flown to Vienna

we had a neighborhood walk along the Danube river with breezy wind on our face

at the outskirt of vienna city...the view is so much different
quiet & peaceful

nightlife pubs and cafe on the right side...

the tall tower ~ Danauturm
Danube Tower is the tallest free-standing structure in Austria at 252 metres with 2 revolving restaurants and an observation deck.

In summer, the observation platform will be open for bungee jumping
too bad it still closed during our visit, else dare we to challenge our heart attack level? hehe
i wandering...

small little light house on the left bay of the Danube river

a bridge that connects the 2 bay

Next...we head back to town and we'll going for an Opera!

street dancing performance attract lots of attention
because their opening speech is so funny and humoring ...ya..they were speaking English
i still remember what they said...
"Hey Guys~! What's the Time Now? Yeah! Its Show Time!"
"Yeah~! Its Show Time!"
"Found a way for your hand? Rubbing chin? In the pockets? Hugging yourself? "
"Clap for us....clap with the music~!"

We walk and search for quite sometimes looking for the opera house. It wasn't the same we went yesterday.
15 minutes strolling on the street finally we found it.

The Musikverein ~ It is the name for the famous Vienna concert hall. Built on a piece of land given by Emperor Franz Joseph. It was opened on January 6, 1870. The Musikverein is famous for its acoustics and is considered to be one of the five finest concert/opera venues in the world.

 Our concert tonight
We are not big fans of classical music ...but we wanna be there for an experience of life
since its a Must-DO activities highly recommended in Vienna, Austria.

we bought the tickets earlier thru online system, and now redeem it with our e-voucher.

 very classy interior

yeah! got our tickets on hand...but time is still earlier for the concert to start
we went nearby the coffee shop for refreshment

Cappucino with the Popular Traditional Pastry in Austria ~  Apple Strudel

its a must try when you are at Austria ~ This is absolutely delicious!

Time: 7pm

We gotta go for the opera after the tea break....when we returned to the Musikverein....the lobby hall gets very crowded....

Gentlemen have to deposit their coat or jackets to the cloak room with charges. Then we were directed to our "seat"

yeah..this is our "standing seat"
the Musikverein sold many different types of tickets, standing tickets, normal seat, balcony seat and also podium seat.

balcony seats

and the "special" podium seat sold to the Asian
facing the crowd audience and watching the back of the performers....kinda strange

The Grand Golden Hall

warming up

have to be there early to get a good "standing" place !

吴宗宪 said ~ Comes' Up Some of the Music
*notice that most of the audience are senior citizen.....

When the orchestra start, all the door is closed. If you are late for the show, please stay outside. The security will not allowed for any interruption until the break time of the performance. After every 30-45 minutes, then its a break time, you may go enter for your seat or go to the cafe for a quick snack, drink or even leaving.

We leave the Musikverein on the 2nd break time, alamak our legs gets very tired and numb la...standing for almost 1 hour for the music. Actually we can still stay back and sit on the floor if dont mind to be wild since quite some of the people doing that too...but we remembered we have to head home and wash our cloths!!!

The Musikverein at night

*****

Back to the hotel....i forgot what we had for dinner that night......but the main aim to reach home early is to wash our cloths...

At the lower ground floor of the apartment, there's a washing area got 1 washing machine and 1 dryer machine free usage to the occupants of the apartment.

8.45pm - Washing Machine Occupied
9.15pm - Washing Machine Occupied
9.45pm - Washing Machine Still Occupied

My eyes lid is getting very down....im so tired today and feel like wanna sleep immediately and forget about washing the cloths. But we had pay extra for the apartment especially for the washing machine, and also pay extra EUR10 for the early check-in!!! Die die i will wanna use it and sacrifice my sleeping hours!!!!!

10.30pm - Washing Machine Still Occupied

I dont care la...the washing machine had stopped but there were still cloths inside...i dunno what is the stage of the cleaning now...

all in foreign language which i know non of it!

I just open the door and take out all the cloths and leave it on a rack at the other end of the washing area.
I smell strong detergent .....guess the cloths were just at rinsing stage when i took it out...hahaha

Kinda rude...but who cares...we are leaving tomorrow early morning d...so sorry i have to do bad once in my life....hahaaha

Took out the cloths and put in our cloths.....no detergent...i put the body shampoo ...

we scared there were other people did the same to our cloths...so we kiasi-ly decided to stay there at the washing area and waited till our cloths is completely wash and clean!

While our cloths is still washing, 11.45pm there were a groups of teenagers came to the washing area....
ops....it was their cloths that we dump at the rack...keke

they were curious why the cloths were still so wet and strong detergent...we pretend nothings happened and continue chit-chatting in our language...

just when they leave...."Buahahahaha.....Muahahahahaha" both of us laugh die on the floor for their reaction!

We are totally awake from the laugh.....

When the cloths is done washing, we have to put it to the drying machine......

its not my first time using the drying machine...
once at Sweden at my hubby's uncle's place on our last europe trip
second time was at Melbourne my aunties's place
both time we was assisted by the aunties....
this time on our own, we really have no idea on how to operate it
simply hantam! twist twist twist until its start working...keke

Washing is fast.... it tooks only 1 hour, drying part is very time consuming, the cloths been dried in the machine for 2 hours and still partially wet.....

Its already 2.30am, both of us are getting very weak and cold sitting on the cement floor of the washing area....

Grab our cloths and back to the apartment....lay flat the cloths on the sofa, heater and let it dry ...

3,2,1 ........ZZzzzzZZzzzzz

*****
Early morning on the next day, we pack all our belongings....surprisingly those cloths we lay flat on the heater is all completely dried. Well done!

catch our train to the next destination

after a whole crappy night....we sleep like fainted down on the comfy train....
