My Honeymoon Diary : City of Music

We left only half a day trip at the Vienna city...got quite a lot to cover today..First! We are heading to the Ringstrasse!

Rathaus Park in Vienna is fulled with blooming Tulip...all kind of colors

its just like we are now in Keukenhof, Amsterdam...hehe

hubby did plan to visit Keukenhof in this round of our europe trip too bad the air tickets is way too expensive but we are still lucky to see so many Tulips around here too

The Museums Quartier

Its a large square joining the Ringstrasse with the Museumsquartier. Facing each other from the sides of the square are two identical buildings. The Natural History Museum and the Museum of Art History.

i was so happily to receive the flowers....just a second next she is asking $$ from me

wat? i was a bit shock at the moment ....ok it was a tactic of the poor children to beg for money

but so sorry...i return the flower to her immediately

There are lots more of museums all around the corner

If you like museum walk...this is definitely a great place to spend up few days or even weeks

Sisi - A Tragic Empress

The eccentric, reclusive, and beautiful Empress Sisi was born Elisabeth, Duchess of Bavaria in 1837. At the age of 15, she agreed to marry her cousin, Franz Joseph of Austria, and took up residence in the Hofburg. Thrust unwillingly into the public eye, she hated imperial life and declined to fulfill the traditional roles of empress, wife, and mother. Her eldest child died aged two, and her fourth child committed suicide. She eventually became estranged from her husband, wrote increasingly melancholic poetry, and travelled incessantly. In 1885, she wrote: 'I am a seagull, of no land, i call no shore my home, I am bound to no place, I fly from wave to wave'. She was assassinated in Geneva in 1898 by an Italian anarchist, who later remarked: ' I wanted to kill a royal. It did not matter which one.'

Ops wow... before we head to the State Opera...we were both stopped tempted by the deliciously looking cakes of a coffee shop!

omg....all of them looks so nice and delicious...

we just cant stop ourselves ordering for more

we greedily order 3 pieces of cake ...keke

Next: Hundertwasser Hause

While we are on the tram towards the next sightseeing destination....the tram pass by this and it looks so interesting. We just rang the bell and jump off the tram.

this is the best part of planning your own itinerary.....we can go and stop at anytime anywhere to see and do whatever thrill your excitement!

After this.....we turned into Stadtpark......

waiting for the next tram to Hundertwasser Haus

You can't fail to spot the quirky Hundertwasserhaus!

the vividly-colored patchwork facade, stands out among the dull Austro-Hungarian empire architecture that surrounds it.

there's a small shopping area opposite the Hundertwasserhaus...selling souvenir and creative art pieces

the Mozart Corner....no longer selling musical pieces...instead..CHOCOLATE!! haha

Next: Stephansdom

There has been a church in Stephansplatz for over 800 years, but all that remains of the original 13t-century Romanesque building is the Giants Doorway and the twin towers at the main entrance.

we went to the wrong church ...ops

haha...becoz there is no name or banner at the entrance la...

simply a neighborhood church looks very stunning at its interior too!

ahh...ini baru betul! Stephansdom!

After extensive damage at the end of World War II, the citizens of Vienna financed the rebuilding of the cathedral as a symbol of national solidarity after the horrors of the Nazi regime.

At the central of Vienna's City...stood in front of the Stephansdom.

its a pizza house!!!

Hubby found this pizza house highly recommended by the resident around the neighborhood. Where they used to and like to dine in here almost 5 days in a week! Located just a few blocks away from our apartment.

No play play ...its really full house!

The waiter told us we should have make reservations 2 days in advance...unbelievable crowded!

no choice...we just got to order and take away the pizza

The night is still young after the pizza back at our apartment....we went out for a night walk.

Vienna State Opera House @ Night

Kärntner Straße ~ The most famous shopping street at Central Vienna. Shop till you drop all the way from the State Opera House until Stephansdom.

Swarovski ~ The main shop at its hometown

Its a must-buy souvenir at Austria. Too bad its closed when we was there...nvm

I'll Be Back!

About 8.30pm almost all the shop on the street is closed. We are not fans of night clubs nor pubs..so just head home to rest and get ready for tomorrow's journey!

Last but not least....supper at the exit of the metro...Japanese Food!

Bought the yaki soba....and then we found we were lost! We exited at the correct metro station..but why ar??

It doens't looks like the we are in our apartment area....we are at across the river of our apartment!!!

Alamak...going back to the underground try to find the other exit to the other end of the river.

We starts to get panic cause we failed to find the correct way..its was just so confusing with the "lung lung la la" without a clear direction signboard.

Holding the warm yaki soba in my hand, with the pik pok pik pik pok heart beat...we go back to the ground and then just walk along the river till a bridge to the other side of the river and again finding our way home!

finally home and im happily eating the slightly cold yaki soba!

That's how we ended our terrible start off a day and a nervous journey home!
