Durian Buffet @ Simkoayen, Melaka

Durian the KING of Fruits is a MUST EAT seasonal fruits in my annual list. Love the smells of it and love the taste of it even more~~ Just wondering why Andrew Zimmern can swallow the nasty bull's testicle but not the Durian...what a shame~~ Buuu....Buuu.....

Last month, my colleague and friends went all the way to Melaka for the durian buffet. Although PJ and Cheras near near also got durian buffet but mostly are having only Durian Kampung. This Melaka durian buffet is famous with its title 'Malaysia's Durian Champion' ...very interesting & attractive huh...Let's Go!

Buffet starts when every one is settle down

Durian was served 1 by 1 to each table...we got roughly about 5-6 people in a table.

Ok...all the durians we ate there are so many many

Horlor D163 (葫芦) , Hongren (红仁), Red Prawn D175 (红虾) , Green 15 (青15) and 1 new edition durian

i forgot what else we ate...but we can repeat to order any type of the durian...after the 1st round durian

then came the most famous Raja Kunyit ~ 猫山王

As recommended, Raja Kunyit suppose to be the last to take because of its strong taste will totally covered up any other durians taste...ate 2 rounds of it..eh..no more liao o.....sien...because of the expensive market price of Raja Kunyit...we can only take 2 on each table...

Still feel not enough...then we just keep ordering other type of the durian la..to satisfy the cravings of it...

i still remember weeks ago me and hubby thought to buy 2 biji durian from road side...but the seller said 'malu mao buka la...' and keep asking us to buy those expensive durian...ok la since he dun wan to tell then ask him to keep for himself la..i eat kao kao here now!

there were rambutan and mangosteen on each table free consume to cool down after the heaty durian

One very good lesson we learnt from this trip....the owner of the farm taught us on how to differentiate different types of durians. And the most easy to remember and differentiate is the Raja Kunyit, some said Musang King is look at the bottom of the durian.

see clearly now? A guideline for those who wanna buy durian from roadside stall prevent from 'Kena Tipu' 

since this type of durian is mostly expensive.

Few hours spending at the farm, everybody is so satisfied with durians stuffing. Along the way to the farm we pass by rubber plantation, a lake and durian farm ...certainly a retreat from our daily traffic and be refreshed with nature artwork. 

Durian Buffet is available in June and July every year.
