My Honeymoon Diary: Up to the Jia-Lat hill.....Priceless

Previous: My Honeymoon Diary: The 10,000 Meal

A brand new day at Budapest. Today we'll start with the Gellert Hill which just located across the Danube from our hotel.

First: Gellert Hill

Hubby call it "Jia-Lat" Hill....there is no specified way up to the hill from the google maps..we have to explore it ourself and finally found a trekking path.....and it took us about 30 minutes to hike up. When we reach the peak, at the other end of the hill there was actually another way down summore it is a proper staircase and could possibly needs about only 10 minutes to here. So you say la..jialat or not?

 The Liberty Statue
In remembrance of the Soviet liberation of Hungary from Nazi forces during World War II.

Its never a waste of energy to hike up the Gellert Hill
Look at the stunning panorama of Budapest and Danube
and the famous Chain Bridge

Parliament on the right

and Castle District on the left

Next: Castle District, Royal Palace, Matthias Church, Fisherman's Bastion

this way up to the castle district by the funicular
its kinda expensive for the short ride, so we decided to walk up to the castle district

 hmm...which one to go first....??!!
Of course breakfast first!!!!

That time our stomach already start shouting for food after using too much energy hiking to the jia-lat hill and now to the castle hill.

wow....rated Best Restaurant by the Michelin Guide and Gault-Millau Guide
too bad..its still not open yet
i gotta find somewhere for breakfast....hehe

then we found this cozy little cafe at the mezzanine floor of a mini-market

a lot of nice souvenir for sales

 antiques

A notice at the door of the toilet
"The toilet works with the special coins......"

check out the machine by the door of the toilet
is where you put the special coins and grant access

 cappuccino ~ yum

a basket of breads inclusive in the set breakfast we ordered

 and my sausage set
wow very juicy and crunchy sausage

hubby ordered fried eggs with bacon
very big portion and delicious too

after this 2 very big portion of breakfast set, we totally cant stuck in the bread anymore. The lady from the counter was very friendly, bring us a paper bag and we tapao all the bread away~!! Nice People!

We are now energetic to start the tour~!!!

the gate to the royal palace

3D map of the castle district

the imposing and multi-faceted royal palace

lion guarded the gate of the palace

 St. Matthias Church
with an extraordinarily multi-colored tiled roof

 Fisherman's Bastion
The seven Disney-like mini towers represent the seven Magyar tribes that settled in the Carpathian Basin in 896.

The Fisherman's Bastion affords a stunning view over to Parliament and sprawling Pest.

The bronze status of Stephen I of Hungary mounted on a horse

After 2 hours spending at the Castle District....we proceed to catch up with other interesting spot~!

Next: Great Synagogue, Great Market Hall

While all the way down from the castle, there still lots of nice scenery

 the beautiful Chain Bridge

me with the beautiful Chain Bridge in the morning

the tunnel entrance under the Castle District

From the Castle District we simply walk around the old town street towards the Great Synagogue, but dunno how we had lost our direction to it...walk here walk there still we cant reach the place....

Suppose a 2km walk to the Great Synagogue, we had walk for extra few km.....at the end we reach the Great Market Hall....haha

Great Market Hall ...a place where many locals come here to shop for fresh food and its's bustling with life and color.

 Array of meat on sales

  hamssss

all of the spare parts....shows just how thrifty Hungarians are, as they consider every part of the animal fair game for the pot.

look at their "kacang" so big piece
really pop pop lop pop chui

fresh vegetables

paprika

dairy products

 handicraft is available there too

colorful biscuit specially for the Easter

At the upper deck of the "wet" market, look out for folklore and handicrafts

very outstanding apron of whatever character you could think off
superman, batman, incredible hulk, santarina, hercules.....

 and these sexy babes

 plenty of nibbles available too

 mixed rice

 pizzas..

guess what this things for??

 unguessed ..its the bread holder

We din find anything for ourself there but its never get bored with these interesting stuff where we unusually seen at Malaysia.

Next: Széchenyi Baths

After a hard day of major sightseeing, its times to take the plunge and relax in one of Budapest's world-renowned thermal baths. Its a culture in budapest where everybody will go for the bath everyday after work no matter is winter or summer.

look at the crowd

It was a funny start, after we had bought the entrance ticket, there were 2 things given,
a blue net bag
and a blue watch-timer

we first head to the changing room, inside the changing room, both left and right is door, a bench and then a hanger only...but there is no lock!!....where's the lock ...how to lock???
aghhh...we see people walk in walk out changing but still we not figure out how they lock the door, or they din even lock the door and change??

Oh no...im so scare if the door is no locked...what if someone crash in when im changing??
few minutes later finally my clever hubby saw this...

there a small piece of the bench...turn it up n down to lock and close the door
its really a 'jing gu' lock

unnoticeable "lock" extended from the bench
with my blue timer

the blue net bag to keep your belonging

its the locker lock
the watch-timer work as a key to push the button to open and close the locker
once the locker is initiated by that specific watch-timer, then that's the only watch-timer could open the locker

its was about 14'C - 16'C out there but see those sexy babes still in their bikini

we also acting strong and take the challenge to go for the outdoor pool
it is so windy cool out there, but feel ok so far
then find a less crowd pool we immediately jump in and soak

wash wash wash....wah..all the pain has gone now...
neck pain, shoulder pain, arm pain, knee pain, leg pain ...sifat pain also all gone now!!!!

wah..nice..but its not really hot too...just about 23'C
so we decide to try for the indoor pool
just once we leave the pool and expose to the breezy cold wind
wuuhuu...THAT"S COLD MAN~!!!
our whole body is shaking crazily
less than 1 minutes we jump and run back to the indoor

 there's indoor and outdoor pool
all comes with different temperature

 80'C ?? that's killing hot!!

we were in this pool after the frost at the outdoor pool
20 minutes slow cooked in the hot pools, leave us a seriously sleepy
oh ya..its time to go~!

Next: Vaci Utca

Vaci Utca is one of the main pedestrian and perhaps the most famous street of central Budapest. It features a large number of restaurants and shops catering. Among the retailers located here are Zara, H&M, Mango, Esprit, Lacoste, Nike and many more local's designer.

hands in pocket...i din bought anything yet

see the shopping king~! happily bought something at Budapest!

my bag broke on the first day when we were rushing here rushing there at the Doha airport

finally got a new replacement ..hehe
for the next all coming pictures i'm with this bag!

and hubby broken shoes....used since our last europe trip till now

and he get himself a new pair and trendy checkered shoes~~!! phew whitt!

Next: Prague, Czech Republic

On the same day, after the major sightseeing at Budapest, finally we'll leaving here and go to our next destination ~ Prague~!

10.30pm at the bus stations...

the eurolines bus terminal with very nice exterior and possible warm air at the indoor

and look at our "bus station"
its the ticketing shop of the bus company which had already closed at 7pm
we had no shelter and waiting for our bus with the cold wind blowing to us.....
how much i hope there is a cup of hot coffee in my hand that time...

11.20pm finally the bus is here...both of us melting down in the bus

and sharply 11.30pm the bus leave Budapest and we're heading to Prague now!

Bye Budapest~!!!
