Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Today's Lunch Menu ~ Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Aglio e Olio is a traditional Italian pasta dish that all Italian men know how to make. But now my 'melaka' man is busy with his PS3 ~ God of War 3! So today im the chef!

*****
First get all the ingredients ready~!
The best part of Aglio e Olio is there is no fixed ingredients which are expensive or seasonal
you can make it as simple as possible with only garlic & olive oil
but anyhow you may choose to add in anything u like to flavor up the spaghetti too

Ok..that's what i have in my fridge today...let's see

The white wine
Limited Release Redhill Creek Chardonnay 2009
Although its a young wine, but its taste so fine to me!

A dash of white wine to the spaghetti to give it an 'expensive' taste

Green capsicum in slices

Black olive - Diced it

Swiss Brown Mushroom

2 stalks of Dried Chilies Flakes
Remember to clean the seed inside else it will make the spaghetti flaming hot!!

Few cloves of finely chopped garlic

Pack of bacon bought from pasar @ RM8 only

Nice three tier meat with the oil layer

Pan fried bacon
Set it aside till cold down then
cut it into small pieces

Bengi Spaghetti

Cook the spaghetti in boiled water
Remember to add pinch of salt to the water so that it prevents stickiness of the spaghetti and meanwhile it season the spaghetti so that it wont taste bland

*****
When all the ingredients is ready

Heat up the pan with generous amount of olive oil
Add in the chopped garlic
stir fry it but dun let it get brown
when u smell the aroma
add in the rest of the ingredients
mushroom, olive, green capsicum, dried chili flakes, bacon
cook for abt 30 seconds

add the dash of white wine
flavor with salt, black pepper & herbs (optional)

Bring it to boil
then add in the drain spaghetti
mixed it well with all the ingredients

Garnish it with some parsley and it is done~!

Yummy Spaghetti Aglio e Olio matched with the remaining Pinot Noir
What a nice day cooking at home again~!
