郭靓太煮私房菜 ~ 日式鸡饭 Japanese Ground Chicken Rice

Yesterday is chap goh meh.....earlier we were suppose planning to go Tanjung Harapan for activities to celebrate the last day of CNY...but the thunders keep "broom broom" telling us to head home better..its going to rain very soon.....

So plan A blew.....no where to go....no food hunting today.....but still we make it an interesting night.....because the young and beautiful Mrs. Kwok will be cooking the dinner ~!

This was my first time cooking japanese style food at home...after rounds of the western food.

Never try..but im confident! No special ingredients.....no confusing steps...let's Start!

Steps 1: Rice Cooking

I din bought the japanese rice....i think it should be okie to cook with the normal rice...we just make it in japanese flavor should be good enough.

My dear friend Shanice bought me the rice cooker earlier during my house warming.....but i never took out and use..because i lazy to wash it....sorry dear ..keke

But how to cook rice without the rice cooker??

Dont worry...i got a good idea, we can always cooking rice with the Microwave~!!!

First...wash and drain the rice...then soak the rice with the appropriate amount of water.
scale ~ 1:1.5

Let the rice soak for at least 15mins to absorb more water before we sent it to the microwave.
After 15-20 mins of rice soaking....cover the bowl with the lid then put in the microware
and press the "Rice Cooking" button and start!

After approximately 20mins cooking in the microwave...the rice should be done~! But don't open the lid first...let the steam inside the bowl keep moisture the rice for another 3mins. After the 3 mins you will have a nice bowl of fragrant rice cooked by the microwave~!

Steps 2: Sauteed Mushroom

Ingredients:
~ 6 pieces of Mushroom
~ 2 tablespoons of Soy Sauce
~ 1 tablespoons of Oyster Sauce
~ Pepper
~ Salt

soak the mushroom in the hot water...lets it oxidized first

Then sauteed it with the ingredients above

Steps 3: Fried Eggs

Ingredients:
~ 2 eggs
~ Pepper
~ Salt

2 eggs seasoned with pepper and salt

fried it in a pan until golden brown

then roll it and cut the egg into slices
for topping to the rice later

Steps 4: Seasoned Chicken

Ingredients:
~ Minced Chicken
~ 1 tablespoon of grated ginger
~ 1 tablespoon of Mirin
~ 1 1/2 tablespoon of Soy Sauce
~ 1/2 of Sake

Seasoned the minced chicken with the above ingredients.

i bought this at the 100yen shop @ Rm5

Cook the seasoned minced chicken in slow fire until its fragrant then its done!

Steps 5: Rice Seasoning

Ingredients:
~ 3 tablespoons of Soy Sauce
~ Sugar

Mixed the soy sauce and the sugar to season the rice later

Steps 6: Finishing

~ Cooked Rice
~ Fried Slice Egg
~ Sauteed Mushroom
~ Rice Seasoning
~ Sauteed Minced Chicken

mixed the rice with the chicken and seasoned with the rice seasoning
stir well to balance the flavor

then top the rice with the sauteed mushroom and the egg slices

The simple yet delicious Japanese Ground Rice is done~!
